Fourth post on birthday orgy of thrifting (Status: ceramic goodness)

Today's b o of t (birthday orgy of thrifting) post is for the ceramics and one piece of melamine ware.  Please welcome the Pyrex, the platter, the ashtrays and the Boonton.

I found the yellow, blue and red Pyrex bowls all at the same Salvation Army store on the east side of town; I was pretty thrilled because it gives me half of a primary color bowl set and I love the squar-ish Pyrex bowls because they look very art deco.

I have no ideal who made this platter but I thought the design pretty cool and it was super cheap; I found this at the East Broad St. Ohio Thrift along with the Paul McCobb platter and Mirro Medallion tray.
I found this cute (and I'm not just sayin' that cuz it's pink) Boonton ware divided serving bowl in Mansfield along with the Russel Wright 2qt covered casserole.  The deco style handles on these Boonton Ware pieces give them a lot of style.
I'm not a smoker, never have been and never will be, but the space age, googie style ashtray was a real fixture of the mid century so ya' gots to have a few.  None of these cost over 90 cents so I grabbed 'em.

There will only be one more post on the birthday orgy of thrifting.

  1. I normally don't hunt out dinnerware for the store as we really don't move much of it. I did take in a really nice set of Redwing/Bob White dinnerware with literally all the cool serving pieces from one of my large item consignors. It's had a few looks but no bites. Ashtrays always sell well and I'll grab them everytime!

  2. Wow you must have had a packed car on your birthday thrift break! I've been enjoying all the goodies you've been posting from that haul, I have quite a few of the Boontonware in aqua and pink. :)

  3. @A Modern Line-Good tip on the ashtrays; I may be opening a store in the upcomming year so that's some good 411.
@The Thriftaholic (Leilani)- Since I spread the fishing over a week I didn't over stuff my car, this time;-) I'm probably going to get a van in the next month or so- I can hardly wait to stuff that turkey!
