Tried swimming around this mid mod auction pond. Status: smarter but empty handed

Sunday there was a nice Mid Mod themed auction full of tasty goodies like this Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin circular green Lounge chair with ottoman.
(My friend Joanna doesn't come with the chair.  With a little editing this would make a good album cover, right?)

I came close to winning this orange Baughman sofa designed for James inc.  I was down to me and another guy; I stopped at $550.00 and he won it for $575.00 (sigh...).  The orange colour is much better in the picture of the tag.

I was also in the running for this George Mulhauser for Plycraft reclining ...Eames-esque chair.  I stopped at $275 and the winner (same guy, I think) got it for $300.  (Phooey!)

There was a bunch of great art at the sale, as well.  Mid sixties, low edition prints by Charley Harper, Miro, Calder and ... Carlo of Hollywood!  It seems that the home owner contracted Artcraft of Hollywood (home of "Carlo") to make a painting that would match their furniture.

Here is a link to the auction company's photos for the sale so you can gaze at some of the other goodies (like the Bauman burlwood and white leather sofa, art, other furniture and ...stuff).  http://www.auctionzip.com/cgi-bin/photopanel.cgi?listingid=1130358&category=0&zip=43201&kwd=
