You CAN go home - for the estate sales (Part Deux)

Yesterday I showed you the dinning set that I picked up at an auction in my home town; today I'll show you the smalls (that's what she said).

Noritake Mardi Gras china set.  This set is an almost complete (isn't that always the way-sigh) setting for eight plus some serving pieces (bonus!).  There are 8 dinner plates, 7 shallow salad bowls, 7 bread plates, 7 saucers, 8 coffee cups, 4 berry bowls (what's up with mid mod dishes and berry bowls- they must have had a real "thing" for berries), 2 soup/ cereal bowls, a plater plus the creamer & sugar.  I have to admit, this set makes me think of Howard Johnson's; maybe it's the colours, orange, yellow and brown.
This is a nice old shaker, rather plain, but it has really thick glass so you don't have to worry about breaking it while vigorously preparing a martini for James Bond or konking a rowdy party guest over the head.

Eight Russel Wright Eclipse old fashion glasses.  Pretty cool, huh?  They inspired me to get all creative with the photos.  I think I might like RW's glass wear better than his ceramics.
By the way, the dining set sitting in my father's condo garage until I can (1) get a truck to bring it to Columbus and (2) make some space in my house, get a storage unit or maybe set up at an antique mall.

  1. Nice estate sale scores. The estate sales 'round here have been kinda lame the last few weeks with slim pickins of the mid century modern variety. Just a sofa here or a chair there. Too much trouble for the effort.

You gots some great antique malls out your way. We've actually made weekend roadtrips out there just to check them out.

  2. Mr. Modtomic- have you been to Springfield, Ohio? MASSIVE antique malls; I think the antique mall universe revolves around that city.
