Lets dish, with the Bopfish

Considering how much dishware I pick up at the thrifts, I think this may become a regular feature (maybe "I'll drink to that" for all the glassware, too).  Just past the cat you can see some cups and saucers which were part of a haul from an "Ohio Thrift" store.
The cat is named "Bubba", he sorta belongs to the hillbilly family across the street.  He's very sweet but looks tough because he's kinda gnarly.  He stopped by to check out my latest finds.

I seldom hit this particular Thrift store (they have 3 or 4 locations in Columbus) because I have not found anything, until Thursday May 26 when I hit this tidy jackpot.
So here is "the haul"

The cups and saucers are Mikasa "Leilani" pattern.
The left hand plate is an Anchor Hocking Ironstone "Mint" pattern dinner plate.  Apparently this pattern started out as a Taylor Smith Taylor design.
The center plate is a Cannonsburg "Citation" pattern. Check out that weird feather and starburst design; somehow it looks elegant.
On the right is a LARGE Mikasa Duplex "Duet" pattern platter by Ben Seibel.  This sucker is 12 1/2 inches from rim to rim.
Over on the top left are three burlapware plastic bowls.  Usually I see these bowls cracked and yellowed but these are in pretty nice shape.
Huh, I don't seem to have taken a picture of the Mikasa, Ben Seibel "Yellow" pattern gravy bowl.  I guess "Yellow" is a colour AND a pattern.  It works with the "Duet" platter.

  1. Oh man, I don't know how you do it...I could never buy just A dish from a pattern. I just gave away a set of like seven pieces to a recent buyer of a side table since he asked if I had any atomic looking dishes available cheap. There were like four plates, a serving bowl and a few saucers. It drove me nuts that I hadn't found more of them to have a real set. Singles? No way!

  2. It's nearly impossible to find big collections of dishes plus I see lots of great orphan dishes that are crying out for a home, In the near future I'm planing to open an Etsy store for all of the "orphan" dishware and other goodies.

  3. I randomly ended up here, and though this post is 6 years old or so. I hope Bubba the neighbors cat is okay. He has a severe eye and ear infection. I hope he went to the vet!
