Cantilevered sofa find (Status: Hometown-ish score)

When I make my weekly visit to my dad I look around Craigslist in the neighboring towns. This is a search which usually comes up empty, bot not today, dear reader, not by a long shot!  Take a look at this great 1970s Muller Furniture Company cantilevered sofa.
I can't find much info on the Muller Furniture Company (of Grand Rapids Michigan) but at one point it was a subsidiary of Widdicomb and produced a line of furniture designed by Kem Weber.  Muller separated from Widdicomb in 1960 and changed from "Company" to "Corporation" in 1962,
Anyway, the sofa upholstery seems to be influenced by Mies van der Rohe
The cantilevered chrome legs are obviously influenced by Milo Baughman
It's a long sofa at just a hair under eight feet and a very solid sitter (a very firm seat); it also weighs a ton due to it having a solid steel frame.
It has a couple of cosmetic issues, like some wear on the seat edging
There is also a dime size hole on the back (although I do have the piece of upholstery that belongs)
I was disappointed to find that it was not upholstered in leather
With a little clean-up this is going to be a real gem!

    1. @Dana@Mid2Mod - Yup, I found that one the Muller logo on my sofa is not shown with the collection of Muller logos); I was really trying to find info on their products.

  2. Are you sure it's not leather? The tag (I believe) refers to the cushion material, not the upholstery. Either way, I love it! I'd be proud to lounge around in it all day instead say...mowing the grass!
