Cincinnati Modern show 2012 weekend (Status: a whole lot of wow)

I attended the Cincinnati Modern show on Saturday and it was packed with lovely pieces as well as people!   Any way, here are a bunch of pics with very little comment.

Harkerware place setting (Status: two for springtime)

I've been on an epic strikeout streak for about 3 weeks now; I have not found a thing in 85 thrift store/ junk shop/ antique store stops.  I found these two place settings of Harkerware "Springtime" about a month ago at the Volunteers of America in Grove City.

I melted for these Dairy Queen glasses (Status: odd numbers)

Found these in a north western suburb of Columbus called Hilliard.  Sadly, I saw this same set right before Christmas and there were six glasses (and the Goodwill wanted $36).  Something must have happened; I like to think someone threw a fit over the price and broke half the set.

Hey, wake up! (Status:another side table)

A day of mixed results, yesterday.  The first stop I made was at the Greater Columbus Antique Mall (aka: the German Village Antique Mall), where I nabbed this Heywood Wakefield 308G side table; the stops at 12 thrift stores, however, left the Bopfish nets totally empty.

Sometime around 3:15 PM (eastern time) today my lil'ol' blog had it's 10,000 visitor.  Thanks a lot for visiting my blog and cheers; lets have some drinks in these nifty snowflake themed lo-balls.

Danish reclining lounger with ottoman (Status: enough with the ceramics)

About three weeks ago the North High St Goodwill moved to a new location, which is somewhat smaller, and there hasn't been a thing in there until I found this Danish sorta Eames lounger.

Fourth and final Russel Wright haul (Status: Did I save the best for last?)

Last post for the RW haul.  So, "Tom" bought the RW collection at a storage locker sale about five years ago ("before they were popular", his parents said) and then he appears to have had no idea what to do with all of the stuff.  Finally, his parents told him it all had to go.  Interestingly, the original owner was the wife of a prominent Dayton doctor and, when fresh from college, she had been an intern in the Nixon/Ford White house.
